On top of the amazing, fantastic, perfect baptism we had yesterday, we continue to work with dozens of other awesome people. The Chan clan, who are 4 tanfastic kids who are coming to church, are A Mazing. Carrie(14), Melissa(12), Adam(11), and Jacqueline(9) are their names, and they are such cool kids. Part of the reason they are so awesome is because they are praying everyday now, and are reading from the Book Of Mormon. They all want to find out for themselves what is true before they get baptized, which is exactly what we love to hear, because they understand how important baptism really is!!!! Such awesome kids.
We also meet a Russian woman this week, Nina. She is from The Ukraine, really close to Rostov-na-donu! She went to the Hill Cumorah paegent and is truly interested in learning more about the church. The night after we meet her, we gave her one of the members numbers, and they talked on the phone for an hour talking all about the church. She came to church yeserday, and we are meeting with her tomorrow, and so Im really excited about her potentional(sp.). We also started meeting with a man named Tony, and he was at church yesterday. He is interested in baptism, so I will give you more updates about him later on!
Now for the Q's!
1. How are you this fine 2nd week of August? How is the apartment with two elders instead of four? Im good, but it is alot different in our pad now. It is weird to not have so many people to talk too, but now im getting to know my comp really well.
2. Who is your new companion and what can you tell us about him? Such as, where is he from? How long has he been out? What language (s) does he speak? Is he tall? Etc. He is Elder Wright from Chico, California. He hasnt been out for too long. He is english called, but can speak pretty good spanish. He is about 5'9 and was is an amazing gymnast. Very nice kid.
3. Did you know it’s your birthday in 3 weeks from today? Holy cow, its coming up really soon. I cant believe im almost 21! wow.
4. How did the work of Preaching the Gospel go this week? What can you tell us about it? Really well! Like, miraculous.
5. Did you see any miracles this week? Yes. On Thursday night, we had two appointments at the same time, and I couldnt figure out how we were going to do it. Five minutes later the District Leader called and wanted to do exchanges that night, so I went to one apointment and Elder Wright went to the other, it was amazing!
6. Have you met an Elder Peppering? Or something like that? He and Jake’s cousin Nan are friends. Havent meet him yet, but I will be looking for him.
7. What happened this week that you were so hopping would? Baptisms! That was the Highlight of the week for sure.
This was an amazing week for sure! I love being a missionary. There is no better work in the whole world, and Im just glad to be apart of it. Holy cow, it is such a great time and place to be a missionary. Im loving it! I love all of you, and thank you for the letters and the kind words.
