On August 31st, it will mark 21 years ago that Skyler Winslow Thiot joined our family. It's hard for me to believe it's been that many years ago. This year he will be celebrating in Brooklyn, New York as a Missionary. That is exactly what I was hoping he would be doing on his 21st birthday when he was born. Being a Missionary has been Skyler's dream all his life. What a great blessing it is for our family to have Skyler serve. If you would like to leave a birthday wish for Elder Thiot, I can forward them to him on his day next Monday. I know he would love that. Thanks for all the love and support you show to Elder Sky.

Sky Team,
ReplyDeleteAnother birthday huh! Well, here is us wishing you a great birthday out in the mission field. Missionary work is awesome. You'd be happy to know we baptized a Russian sister in our Ward 2 Sundays ago. And you know what her last name was; Skylar! Isn't that funny. I told her about you.
I enjoy following you and how things are going on your mission. Keep it up and have lots of fun, especially on your birthday.
We love you,
Joey & Family.
Skyman,
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy to think that you are 21. I guess this means I am nearing 30. I want to know that we love to read your letters each week and here about your growth. What an amazing time to be a missionary. I hope you have a very happy birthday. I know for me my 21st B-day was one of my best. There was sauturday general conference and inbetween sessions we had a baptism. I hope this coming Monday is a wonderful day for you. Thank you for being such a good example.
SLY,
Ricky
Here's a big "HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISH TO ELDER THIOT" From The Morell's.
ReplyDeleteCharlie is playing the organ and I have the whole ward singing. Even though this is make believe just hum and picture it in your mind.
Hope things are going well for you and we wish you the very best! The Morells

Wow! It doesn't seem that many years ago that Corbin was going home with you to play after half-day kindergarten. Happy 21st birthday, Elder Sky! It sounds like you are really enjoying your mission time in New York. Elmhurst holds very special memories for me, too. I grew up in New York, on Long Island, about 30 miles out of the city. My grandparents had a house in Elmhurst! Wish I could tell you the street name. I was amazed when I read where you were. It's a small world. :)
ReplyDeleteCorbin says happy birthday, as well. He is living at home, attending Collin College and working at Best Buy. Rebecca is a senior this year, and hopes to go to A & M next year if she gets her first choice. She wants to become a teacher. My oldest daughter, Amy, married in 2005, and they have a daughter, Allison Victoria, whom we call Alli, who just celebrated her 1st birthday on August 3rd. It's a blast being grandparents! I'm still teaching at Wells. I've been teaching 3rd grade for the past six years. I'll probably teach until Rebecca gets through college.
I wish you a terrific 21st birthday! I think of you often, so it was fun to hear what you're doing. Enjoy the remainder of your mission time in New York. The city is an amazing place. Take care, Sky!
Blessings,
Mrs. Carol Jones
Dear Elder Thiot,
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Thank you for the awesome example you set for us! Your blog updates are both inspirational and motivational. Thank you for being so dedicated to the Lord's work, you are incredible! Kinsley is very excited about your birthday, but she was sad when she finally figured out that she wouldn't be getting to share your cake and ice cream. Hope you day is filled with smiles, success, and sunshine! Maybe Kinsley will get a cupcake in your honor (but truthfully, she is just looking to lick all the frosting off, care to share?)
Much love,
The Christensen
Elder Skyler!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you! I can't believe that you are turning 21 today! It sure is a terrific age to be. Keep up the hard work! I love you!
SLY,
Tatia (your favorite sister)
Elder Sky,
ReplyDeleteFrom what research I've done, 21 is in fact the best year of one's life, and New York is indeed the best city in civilized universe, so I really hope that your experience is as wonderful as my research predicts it will be!
With all the sellotape I've got,
Jake
Hi, Elder Thiot,
ReplyDeleteWe wish you a happy, cake-eating, whistle-blowing, treat-filled, flag-waving birthday.
We are proud of the good work you are doing,
and "21' is just the beginning of life's adventures!
Our best to you,
Jim, Trish, and former Hermana)Emily Dahl
Well Skyler, or rather Elder Thiot, I haven't been paying attention because I didn't know this blog was here until I got an email about your birthday from your mom. I sure want to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are 21!!!!! That is hard to believe, especially when you are wearing that furry hat in the picture labeled "I'm cooking now". But, that's just because you're still the fun loving guy we know and love. Your dad never grew out of that and you probably won't either. You will make a great youth leader and bishop like he is. Well, keep up the good work, pounding the pavement for those people who are ready to here the truth, and keep the Spirit close. I know you are a great soldier in the army of God. All my best. Brother Tom Hodnett
ReplyDeleteElder Thiot,

Love, Lyle and Lisa Radke
